- @X0F @X0C @X0F @X0Bfilename may be entered if you choose to use a BATCH
- @X0F @X0C @X0F @X0Bprotocol for the file transfer
-
- @X0F @X0C(protocol)@X0F @X0Bis a letter from A-Z of the protocol desired
- @X0F @X0C @X0F @X0Bbased on the protocols available
-
- @X0F @X0C(gb) @X0F @X0BEither (gb) or (bye) may be entered on the command
- @X0F @X0C(bye) @X0F @X0Bline to indicate that you want the system to hang up
- @X0F @X0C @X0F @X0Bafter it finishes the file transfer
-
- @X0FDescription: @X0BAllows transferring a file from the system being called to your
- @X0F @X0Bmachine.
-
- @X0F @X0BThere can be up to 26 different types of protocols available. If
- @X0F @X0Byou have not previously set a default protocol for the system you
- @X0F @X0Bare calling, you will be asked for the protocol type each time
- @X0F @X0Byou request a download.
-
- @X0F @X0BAscii protocol transfers are only available on non-binary text
- @X0F @X0Bfiles. Filenames which have extensions of .EXE, .ARC, .COM,
- @X0F @X0B.WKS, etc. can not be downloaded using Ascii protocol.
-
- @X0F @X0BDue to the wide range of protocols now available, it is suggested
- @X0F @X0Byou check with the sysop of this system if you have a question on
- @X0F @X0Bwhich protocols have been implemented and how to properly set
- @X0F @X0Byour software protocols to match those of this system.
-
- @X0FSelecting
- @X0FFiles: @X0BFilenames do not need to be typed in completely in order for the
- @X0F @X0Bsystem to locate the desired file. A default filename extension
- @X0F @X0Bis usually provided by the Sysop such as ".ZIP" so that if you
- @X0F @X0Brequest a file called TEST it will first search to see if a
- @X0F @X0Bfile called TEST.ZIP can be located and if not it will search for
- @X0F @X0BTEST and send which ever file it finds.
-
- @X0F @X0BIn some cases this default extension can make it difficult to
- @X0F @X0Bdownload a desired file. For instance, if both TEST and TEST.ZIP
- @X0F @X0Bexist on the system then typing "D TEST" will always result in
- @X0F @X0Bdownloading TEST.ZIP. To download the file called TEST in this
- @X0F @X0Binstance you would need to type TEST followed by a period with
- @X0F @X0Bno extension like this:
-
- @X0F D TEST.
-
- @X0F @X0BYou may also locate files for download by using the * and ?
- @X0F @X0Bwildcard characters - the same as those used by DOS to specify
- @X0F @X0Bfiles. See the examples below.
-
-
- @X0FBatch
- @X0FDownloads: @X0BSome protocols allow you to download more than one file at a
- @X0F @X0Btime. Examples of this are the Ymodem and Ymodem/G protocols.
- @X0F @X0BDownloading more than one file at a time requires that you select
- @X0F @X0Ba batch protocol on both your end and the host end of the
- @X0F @X0Bconnection.
-
- @X0F @X0BTo select more than one file you must either enter (DB) as your
- @X0F @X0Bdownload command or on the command line simply type more than one
- @X0F @X0Bfilename. See the examples below.
-
- @X0FExamples: D TEST @X0B - downloads TEST using the default protocol
- @X0F D TEST X @X0B - downloads TEST using the Xmodem protocol
- @X0F D TEST1 TEST2 Y@X0B - downloads both TEST1 & TEST2 using Ymodem
- @X0F D TEST? G @X0B - downloads both TEST1 & TEST2 using Ymodem/G
- @X0F D TEST*.* @X0B - downloads any file starting with TEST
